The Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) supports a Least Intrusive,
Minimally Aversive (LIMA) approach to behavior modification and training. If you'd like to learn more about this training method, please visit : ABOUT LIMA
Teams will learn basic cues and behaviors using a clicker, and proven positive reinforcement methods. Handlers will learn techniques to build a lifelong relationship with their dogs and ways to improve the team’s ability to work together.
This class builds on the skills learned in basic class and helps handlers learn to “read” their dogs using shaping exercises. A number of games are played as well as an introduction to props. Teams also prepare for CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test, and take test during final class. Prerequisite: Basic training class and/or instructor approval.
Get ready for the CGCA or CGCU Test! All the exercises in the AKC CGCA test are covered in great detail and practiced. A heavy emphasis is placed on proofing behaviors for distracting environments and we even take the show on the road, weather permitting. The sixth class is the actual CGCA or CGCU test. Prerequisite: Intermediate training class and/or instructor approval.
Private lessons are available upon request. In our private lessons we come into your home and tailor our lesson plans to you and your dog's specific needs. Whether you are working on a particular skill, brushing up before a trial, or having some issues, we are here to help!
Like the idea of Board and Train, but aren’t sure about having your pup gone for a whole week or more? Consider our “Day Trainer” program. Dogs attend during the day 3-5 days per week and go home each night to sleep in their own beds.
We train dogs having trouble with specific behaviors.
