Obedience Training 

Obedience courses shape dogs into companions that are well-behaved at home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. It is essential for the happiness of both dog and handler.

Level 1: Basics 101


Learn basic cues and techniques in the introduction course. This course is perfect for teaching the fundamentals of working with your dog. Puppies under a year old are eligible to receive the AKC Star Puppy certification! In Seven weeks learn positive methods to teach your dog mat work, sit, down, loose leash walking, coming when called, wait, stay, back, leave it, polite greetings, and much more!
 

*Dogs and puppies must have had two series of vaccinations at time of first working class. Vaccination records, and full balance due at orientation.

Level 2: Intermediate 

 

Ready to continue what you and your dog have learned in basic class?Then Level Two class is for you! 

 

Learn to “read” your dog using shaping exercises. Game and prop introduction, Test for CGC and Trick Dog Novice. 
Games, tr
icks and fun exercises to strengthen stays, improve loose leash walking, increase dog’s focus on handler,
greet other dogs, proof “leave it” and much more. Teams will also learn about the AKC Canine Good Citizen program.
Earn your Novice Trick Dog title at the end of six classes!

Level 3: Advanced


Are you ready to be amazed by what you and your canine companion can achieve? Builds on Level 2 skills by proofing behaviors for distracting environments. Level III training class takes stays and loose leash walking to a whole new meaning with creative proofing techniques, interactive games (team building as well as individual), and lots of distractions in real world environments. 
 

Teams will learn all the skills required to test for the CGCA test in class six and then in class seven we take the show on the road to Hartsville and practice for the CGCU.  Week eight is the CGCU test.  All participants will also learn five tricks for the AKC Intermediate Level Trick Dog list toward their Intermediate Trick Dog Title!
